Terms
of use

Last updated: October 31, 2026. By creating an account or using the app, you accept these terms and the privacy policy. Plan Familial is a private space for your family: you remain the owner of what you post, and you are responsible for it.

Plan Familial, published by Soppewe Tchawou Jérémie Arno, an individual based in Quebec, Canada ("we"), lets members of the same family talk in a private chat, build their family tree together and keep their memories and their language. Each family is a private space, reserved for the people who have joined it.

•
You must be at least 14, or the higher age required by the law of your country, unless a parent agrees where that law allows it.
•
You sign in with your phone number, or with your Google or Apple account. Give accurate information and use a number that is yours.
•
An account is personal and belongs to a single family. Do not share it and do not impersonate anyone.
•
You are responsible for access to your phone. If someone else uses your account, let us know.
•
Anyone signed in can create a family; they become its head of the family.
•
The family code, the invitation link and the QR code let people join the family: only share them with people you trust.
•
The head of the family can change the family's name, link tree profiles to accounts, appoint language guardians and hand over the role. Every member can change the family photo.
•
Language guardians check and approve contributions to the family language.
•
We may appoint or change the head of the family in case of a dispute, inactivity or at the members' request.
•
You remain the owner of what you post: messages, photos, videos, recordings, tree information.
•
You only grant us the free, non-exclusive right to host it and show it to your family members, to run the service. This right ends when it is deleted, subject to technical delays.
•
You state that you have the right to post it, in particular the agreement of the people who appear in it.
•
What you share is visible to all the family's members. If you delete your account, your messages stay for the family, signed "Former member".

The tree may include people who do not use the app: children, relatives, deceased people. By adding them, you agree to:

✓
only add accurate information that is useful to the family history;
✓
have the right to do so, for example the person's agreement, or a parent's for a child;
✓
correct or remove this information if the person concerned asks.

You may not use Plan Familial to:

✕
post illegal content, or content that infringes the rights of others (copyright, image rights, privacy);
✕
harass, threaten, intimidate or disparage anyone, or post hateful or discriminatory content;
✕
post sexual content involving minors, sexual content without the consent of the people concerned, or shocking violent content;
✕
disclose personal or intimate information about someone without their agreement;
✕
send spam, malware or misleading links;
✕
try to access another family's data, bypass security or disrupt the service;
✕
copy, resell or commercially exploit the app or its content without permission.
•
You can report a message from the chat (press and hold, then "Report"), or write to us.
•
In case of a breach, we may remove content, count a warning, suspend or delete an account, or make a family read-only or suspend it, depending on how serious it is. Except in an emergency or where the law requires otherwise, the person or the family is told in the app and can reply to us.
•
You can stop using the service at any time, and delete your account (Profile › Delete my account).
•
A new family starts with a 30-day free trial, with up to 200 profiles and 2 GB of photos and videos.
•
After that, a member can subscribe for the whole family: the Family plan (up to 200 profiles, 10 GB) or Large family (more than 200 profiles, 50 GB). The subscription is yearly; its price depends on your country and is shown in the app before any purchase.
•
Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play, under their terms. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings before the renewal date.
•
Refunds follow Apple's and Google's rules: requests are made to them.
•
Without an active subscription, everything keeps working for 7 days, then the family becomes read-only until it is renewed: everyone can still read the chat, browse the tree, find their recordings and contributions, and open their profile.
•
A family stays read-only for one year at most. If the subscription is not renewed within that year, the family is deleted with all its content (messages, tree, photos, memories). Remember to save your important photos and documents.

We do our best to keep the app working reliably, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available, without interruption or error. It may change. Keep your own copies of important photos and documents. If we stop the service, we will tell you in advance where possible, so that you can retrieve your content.

Everyone is responsible for what they post and for how they use the app. We are not responsible for content posted by members, or for exchanges between them.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage related to using the app or being unable to use it. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer, in particular Quebec's Consumer Protection Act or the mandatory laws of your country.

The app, its name, logo, design and code belong to us, or to their owners for licensed elements (libraries, fonts, stickers). You may use it for your personal and family use.

We may change these terms. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. If there is an important change, we will tell you in the app before it applies; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Quebec and Canada. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country. In case of disagreement, write to us first: we will look for an amicable solution.
